Reasons to use System Scrutiny
Few computer networks are 100% secure, and it is unlikely that even the most secure systems escape, at the least, the endeavours of their users. The program was initially designed in a school environment which suffered from having unrestricted access to systems. When Scrutiny was implemented it identified three students with 'hacking' type applications in their user areas despite attempts to hide them as innocent documents. In essence Scrutiny is a search tool with features that can be very effective in detecting subversion if used with some degree of vigilance. It is not a security solution, but it can be used as an effective weapon in the fight against electronic intruders. |
